Sometimes you think you have heard it all, then it happens...
One of our RV dealer partners called today and let me know that another 'rv dealer web design' company would be calling me to see if they offered any services that we did not. I said, ok and not long after received the phone call.
Before I could say a word my ear was filled with all the wonderful services that this 'rv dealer web hosting company' offered. After listening for about 30 seconds I was able to jump in and asked her have you been to this dealers website? There was a pause and then it came ... She said, I havn't had the opportunity to do that yet.
There you go. Unbelievable, or so I thought. Well, needless to say she was embarrased and made short of it.
Not long after that I spoke to another one of our dealersand told them of my recent experience. They told me they receive calls like that all the time. What a shame. No wonder I get the cold shoulder when I try to make calls myself. Even, when I've done a thorough site review before dialing the phone.
It all comes back to building relationships with people and earning their trust and confidence based on what you deliver. I'm convinced of that! It's just too bad that we all have to deal with incompetence too much of the time.
