I wanted to share something we've been discovering during the past few months ... HOW MUCH INFORMATION to display on websites (RV Dealerships) about the RVs they are selling, their unique selling proposition, etc..
The reason this came up was because of the feedback form research we've been doing and the results coming in. At first, my our intent was to find the best type of feedback form to use ... short, long, placement in website, etc.. No matter the form 90% of the time it's visitors saying GIVE ME MORE information ... it might be pictures, pricing, descriptions, specs, etc..
So, do dealers just put it all out there? There's the camp that says 'we want to put just enough so the visitor contacts us'. They are thinking that if they put too much info out there the visitor has no need to contact them. There's the camp that says let's put it all out there, that way we become the expert and those visitors contacting us are the most qualified.
The bottom line is online it's about information ... customers are continually telling our dealers that they want more ... more ... more. More info on the RV's, more info on pricing, options, etc... The way I see it is the dealership website that meets that need will get the most business. You'll earn the customer's trust and confidence ... get that and watch out!
Until next time...
